Dr. Michael Janney, Practice Owner

      Mike Janney, DVM, became interested in a career in veterinary medicine as a youth, combining an interest in animals and wildlife with an aptitude for science and chemistry.  Working with and visiting a few local veterinarians as a teenager inspired him further to choose this career path.    He excelled academically as an undergraduate student at Texas A&M, being accepted to veterinary school in 1982 while being a Magna Cum Laude Biomedical Science major.  He was a member of Phi Zeta, the veterinary honor society, as well as Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Eta Sigma honor fraternities during his undergraduate years. Dr. Janney graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.  He practiced as an associate veterinarian in Northwest Houston until 1990, when he came home to the Clear Lake area to start a practice.  His initial practice, Bay Oaks Veterinary Clinic, merged with Bay Glen Animal Hospital in 1994.

     Dr. Janney grew up in the Clear Lake area, graduating from Clear Lake High School in 1978.  He and his wife Cathy, also from the Clear Lake Area, have 3 sons.  Dr. Janney enjoys fitness training activities, golf, coaching youth football, and watching sporting events.  He also stays busy with the many activities of his children.  He is active in his church, participating in many ministries there.
