Dr. Richard H. Lisk, Practice Owner
Dr. Lisk was born and raised in North Carolina. As a young boy, Dr. Lisk was always fascinated by animals. He had a variety of pets from hamsters and turtles to dogs and cats. While in high school, he got a part-time job at a veterinary hospital and it was from that experience that he decided to pursue veterinary medicine as a career.
Dr. Lisk received his undergraduate degree in Zoology from North Carolina State University in 1980 and his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University in 1984. Following graduation from veterinary school, he completed a one year Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at The Animal Medical Center in New York City.
Prior to starting his private practice in 1990, Dr. Lisk worked as an associate veterinarian for several animal hospitals in Connecticut, New York and Texas. He enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine including challenging internal medical cases, orthopedic surgery, and practice management. Dr. Lisk feels very fortunate to have established his practice in Clear Lake. The community has embraced his vision of high quality pet care with exceptional customer service. The hospital staff has grown and flourished under his direction. He firmly believes that the hospital's remarkable success is in large part due to the commitment of providing a knowledgeable, courteous and well-trained staff, offering the best medical care available, and being committed to educating clients about advances in pet health care.
Dr. Lisk is the proud father of two children, a son Michael, and a daughter Dana. He resides in the Clear Lake area with his Shih Tzu "Oreo" and his Birman kitten "Norton". In his time away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his children and his wife, Carol, riding motorcycles, working in the yard, traveling and being active in his church.

He supports the H.O.S.A. program at Clear Lake High School, allowing students interested in health careers to come and observe the daily routine and activity of a veterinary hospital. He has served on the Campus Instructional Improvement Committee at Ward Elementary and he has been active in a local citizen committee for the Clear Creek Independent School District bond referendum. In 1997 he received the "Friends of Education" award from the C.C.I.S.D.
Dr. Janney enjoys many aspects of his work, particularly medical cases, exotic pet care, and educating owners on how to properly care for their pets. He loves the interpersonal contact and getting to know families and their pets through the years. Caring for a pet throughout its entire lifetime and seeing the happiness that it brings to a family or individual is a very rewarding experience for Dr. Janney. Dr. Tina Han entered veterinary medicine as a second career. After graduating with honors from Rice University with an engineering degree, she worked in IT consulting and spent the next 5 years as a management consultant.
