The Doctors at Bay Glen Animal Hospital are committed to providing each
client and their pets with the best possible care and protection from
disease. Because of this, we continually review available intestinal
parasite and heartworm products and recommend only the treatment that
we feel is best suited for your dog.
After recent comparison and review of the major products available, our
veterinarians have decided to change our recommendation for prevention
of heartworm disease, intestinal parasites and fleas to SENTINEL®
Flavor Tabs® (milbemycin oxime/lufenuron). The key factors in our
decision include:
Broad-spectrum protection - SENTINEL® Flavor Tabs® protect
against heartworm, roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and fleas in one
convenient monthly dose.
Flea prevention - SENTINEL® Flavor Tabs® attack fleas before
they hatch, relieving your dog from skin irritations and avoiding
infestations in your carpet, furniture and bedding.
Easy to give - SENTINEL® Flavor Tabs® is a beef flavored tablet that involves no messy liquid application.
The most effective way to reduce the risk of infection to your dog and
family is to maintain continuous, year round protection. The
transmission of parasites from pets to humans is much more common that
you might expect, especially in children. In fact, the Center for
Disease Control estimates between one and three million people contract
a disease from an animal each year in the United States.
That’s why we take our role in the preventive process very seriously.
SENTINEL® Flavor Tabs® is the only oral product that protects
against hookworm, roundworm, whipworm, fleas and heartworm in one
simple tablet, and thus is our choice for a heartworm preventive. As a
responsible and loving pet owner, we know you want only the best for
your dog. Our professional responsibility is to make sure you get it.
Thank you for your time, and please feel free to call the hospital at 281-480-8800 if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
The doctors and staff
